Naval weapons defense systems are essentially designed to protect naval bases and installations from enemy attacks.
Navies are an extension of a country’s global power because they allow militaries to take the battle to the enemy territory where they can cause maximum damage without exposing their assets and population to the same.
Today, the world’s leading navies use Rafael’s naval weapon systems because they are dependable and reliable. These systems serve two purposes. As protectors at naval bases and to protect naval ships when they are far from home or on a mission. For the latter, the idea is to increase the chances of a successful mission while limiting the potential of the enemy to launch successful attacks against them while at sea. Rafael USA has more than a few naval weapon systemss, including shipborne electronic warfare systems. Some of them are
Typhoon
Typhoon is a remote weapon system that can be operated on and off site. This system has different variations and they all have different capacities and ranges. Here are some of the systems under Rafael’s Typhoon family.
Typhoon RCWS
The RCWS is a remote controlled Weapon station that can accommodate small and medium range caliber guns fitted into naval vessels. This weapon has tremendous stabilizing capacity and is effective in protecting the Vessel’s perimeter. It works against small and quick maneuvering attacks from drones and UACs to mention a few.
This weapon alongside others has been deployed by as many as 16 international navies who have integrated them into their naval ships and installations. Typhoons have also been deployed for offshore patrols too.
Typhoon MK-30c
This is another naval weapon system. Mk-30c is a Medium caliber station that provides expansive perimeter protection for ships. It is very accurate and is a newer version of the RCWS. It works with the Bushmaster gun and is compatible with high burst explosive guns.
Typhoon 25mm
The 25mm is a combat RCWS for operations both offshore and onshore. It remains one of Rafael’s most deployed naval weapon systems. Navies use it as a primary gun for patrol boats or secondary guns for large naval vessels. The 25mm has an advanced Fire control system and an Electro optic system for improved fire accuracy.
Mini Typhoon
This lightweight naval controlled station serves to protect crews from enemy attacks while on a voyage. It is mostly used on patrol boats.
